Hansel Brayboy

Funeral service for Hansel Brayboy will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Purcell Funeral Home, Laurinburg. Burial will follow in the Eastside Cemetery Rockingham, NC. Viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home, Laurinburg.

Mr. Hansel Brayboy, son of the late Willis Brayboy and Jessie Brayboy McMillan was born March 9, 1949, in Scotland County, North Carolina. He passed away on January 14, 2019. 

Hansel was educated in the Robeson County Public School System. He was a member of     “D & L Gospel Singers” of Robeson County. Hansel enjoyed playing his guitar and traveling along with singing southern gospel music. He was also the co-founder of “The Singing Revelation” of Robeson County and the lead guitarist. Hansel wrote over three hundred gospel songs.  

He was proceeded in death by his parents Willis Brayboy and Jessie Brayboy McMillan.

Hansel is survived by his five brothers, Ernest Brayboy, Gilbert Brayboy, D.C. Brayboy, Bracey Brayboy, Gurney Brayboy; two sisters, Lola Dennis and Dale Campbell; and a host of family and friends.
