Raymond Adolph Whitehorne (Ricky) was born on November 5, 1963 in Kingston Jamaica to Iris Palmer and the late Caleb Whitehorne. Raymond (Ricky) completed his earthly journey on July 19th, 2018 at his home in Fayetteville NC. Raymond is survived by: one brother, Ronald Wayne Whitehorne of New York; one sister, Jacqueline Ann McLean (Michael) of Texas; two children, Asuante and De’Nasia of Fayetteville North Carolina; one step-son, Shihad Jackson also of Fayetteville North Carolina; four nephews:, Julian Whitehorne of New York, Kidan Whitehorne (Angel) Texas, Kimar Johnson Texas, and Dmitri McLean also of Texas; one grandnephew, Peyton Johnson Texas; two aunts, Ms. Girly and Ms. White both of Jamaica; special cousins, Veda Henry and Janine Crank both of Texas, Arlene Sims and Veronica Mathis both of New York, Maxine Clarke of Costa Rica; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Raymond attended Excelsior High School in Jamaica. In 1989 Raymond migrated to America, where he enlisted in the military (Army) in August of 1989 and was stationed in Fayetteville at Fort Bragg. On February 8, 1995, Raymond was honorably discharged from the Army. While stationed at Fort Bragg, Raymond met and later married Tonja Jackson. From this union they went on to raise 3 children. After divorce Raymond remained in Fayetteville to be closer to his children. While living in the Fayetteville area, Raymond worked several jobs: Tile layer, city machine operator, truck driver (long distance), Sam’s taxi service, FJS janitorial service, and The Christmas Tree store. He also attended Fayetteville Technical Community College where he received his certificate in Human Resource Development. Raymond will be truly missed by a host of love ones.
