Shireen Mae Rainer was born on February 16, 1954 in Scotland County. Shireen affectionately known as “Little Gal” transitioned to her Heavenly Home on April 23, 2018.

Shireen was a member of Galilee United Methodist Church at an early age. She was a graduate of Scotland High School in the class of 1972. She was employed with Eaton Corporation for many years. She also worked as a behavioral technician for students in Scotland County Schools, and as a mental health professional working with youth and adults with developmental disabilities, until her health failed.

Shireen loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Louise Rainer; her son, James Rainer; two sisters, Janie Rainer and Betty Underwood; four brothers, Wilson Rainer, Cecil Rainer, Preston Rainer, and  Larry Rainer. Also a very special nephew, James Underwood, Jr.

Shireen’s family and friends will miss her dearly and will cherish her memory for as long as they live. Shireen leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: her daughter, Marquitia Rainer Raiford (Ricky) of Greensboro, NC and granddaughter, Zoie Rainer-Williams, her special daughter and grandchildren that she loved and raised, Denise McNeil of Laurinburg, Shantaniece McNeil of Virginia, Shantazia McNeil and Chrissean Lester, both of Laurinburg, and Jatel McNeil of Virginia; two sisters, her twin, Shirley Rainer Campbell of Laurinburg, and Joyce Rainer Ferguson (Jimmie) of Fayetteville; one brother, Donald Rainer (Rosemary) of Laurinburg, and a very special niece, Janet Rainer Manning (Jerry) of Laurinburg; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Rainer and Gwendolyn Rainer both of Laurinburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Shireen also leaves to cherish her memory many special friends whom she loved and cared for dearly.
