Simmie Quick

Funeral service for Simmie Quick, 71, of Laurinburg, will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Laurinburg.  Burial will follow in the Green Pond Church of God In Christ Cemetery, Gibson.  Viewing and visitation one hour prior to service.  The family will greet friends following the service at 1000 Heather Lane Laurinburg, NC, the home of his sister Ms. Lucy Canty for Repast. Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home of Laurinburg.

Simmie Quick was born on a cold snowy day, February 11, 1948, to the late Sim Quick, Jr. and Daisy Covington Quick in Scotland County, North Carolina. He quietly departed this life on a beautiful sunny day, Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, North Carolina.

Simmie was educated in the Public Schools of Scotland County. He lived in Texas for more than thirty years. Simmie returned to Laurinburg in 2015, after the death of his loving wife and caregiver, Mildred Alexander Quick.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Sim Quick, Jr. and Daisy Covington Quick; wife, Mildred Alexander Quick; and sister, Helen Quick.

Those who remain to cherish his memory: his children, Eimmis, Shawna, Simmie, Kimberly, and Bryan; sisters, Cathleen, Lucy, Maggie, Daisy, and Betty; grandchildren, Simmie, Damajia, Genesis, Eimmis Jr., Eligah, and Max; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
